I've decided I lead a pretty boring life. I work, I come home, have dinner, go to bed and then do it all over again, just about every day. I'm not a very social person so I think stitching is a perfect creative outlet for me since I can be alone and I don't have to worry about entertaining or being entertained by someone else. Of course I could be over-thinking it, I tend to do that too. Ah well, I guess it's all about perspective this week.
So the RNG (random number generator), over there --->, came up with #11 last week, so I spent the week working on this wonderful piece. It's going to be really pretty once it's done and I can see some of the blues as I go, but it's pretty dark at the moment.
Here's where it was when I started, for the most part. I say "for the most part" because I worked on it at least one other time, but apparently I forgot to take a picture of the additional work. It wasn't much more than this...so oops! my bad!
I didn't have a whole lot of time to stitch this week, not really sure why because, as I said, I lead a boring life, but here's where it is now.
As I took the pictures tonight I could see more of the blues in the bright light of the flash, I wish they were a bit brighter. I think that as I go further they may show up a little bit more, I hope so. I usually take more than one picture when I'm getting ready to do an update, just so I know I have at least one that is just right for what I'm trying to convey.
I love how digital photography has made it so that even the least experienced photographer can get really good shots from time to time. I still have a couple of rolls of film that I shot years ago, I still haven't taken them in to be developed, I wonder if I should, if for no other reason than I wonder what on earth I was doing that pictures were called for. Hmmm, Maybe I'll take them in this weekend. Curiosity is getting me going now.
Next week I'll be working on the one WIP I had in this challenge. Its a pattern that came with my PC Stitch program, I call it Southwest Mission, but it's called something else in the software, I can't recall what at the moment, and frankly I'm just too lazy to stop and look right now. I've had this piece going for a bunch of years, even when I didn't have a place to stitch. I'd pull this one out of a drawer and put a few stitches in every once in a while. I'm determined to finish it this year. So until next time, Happy Easter everyone and Happy Stitching!!
Welcome! This is where I will be posting my progress on various craft projects that I have going. It started as just cross stitch but I seem to be unable to limit myself to one craft.

Bought more stash
I pick my hubby up from work every day. It just so happens that on the way to pick him up, is a Michaels. Well since it's my birthday on Friday I thought I'd buy myself a present or two. So I stopped at Michaels to look around at what they still have in their cross stitch section, it seems to shrink every time I go. So, since the last time I was there, they either had a huge sale on cross stitch stuff that they didn't bother to tell me about (how dare they?!) or they are not restocking and going to let it all go away, because that area was practically empty! There was hardly any floss, it's usually overflowing, and the fabric hangers were mostly devoid of product. Well I picked up two large rolls of 16 ct aida, 2 packages of #26 needles and a new gridding pen. On the way past the clearance frames, I found a couple of frames that will fit the Here Comes Treble and First Bass perfectly! So I got 2 of them, I may go back for more so I can do the whole set for my hubby later. All in all a successful trip to Michaels. Oh yeah I got a new glass jar for my TUSAL! I'll post pics of that next month. :)
So last night I did a little more stitching on my day 15 start, which I'll post when I get to that day on these update posts. Tonight I worked on First Bass which I posted last night, so I have an update on that one to post tonight along with the day 10 and 11 starts.
Got a lot more done on this one today. I really love how it's looking and now that I have a frame for it, I can't wait to finish it up! Maybe I can give it to the hubby for Valentine's Day.
I didn't get as much stitched on the Day 10 piece, In God We Trust, as I'd have liked to, but I think once I have a chance to get to it, it will go pretty quickly. I love the PM patterns from Gloria and Pat. I have several more that I'll do at some point. I think I may even brave taking on the Noah's Ark piece eventually. Maybe I'll put it on the list for the 2013 Challenge.
I spent most of Day 11 gridding for this large project. It's called Autumn Evening, I think I got it at Herrschners, pretty sure I did, anyway I love the contrast between the light and dark colors, and I'm a sucker for a beautiful sunrise/sunset. This will take me a long while to finish and I suppose if I can get 1 page done I'll consider it a win. Who knows it might go faster than I think, but I'm not expecting to have this one done by the end of the year.
Tomorrow I'll post the next two days and if an update is required, I'll do that as well. Until then...Happy Stitching!
